ceramics

A few years ago I got a chance to test out throwing and hand building with clay. It was a great way to use my hands after a long day of just computer work. I already drew a lot at the time so, of course, I carved my doodles into the half-dry clay. There was something about the "there is no undo here..." that was a great new feeling. It got me to focus on just that and nothing else. After the carving I first dipped each piece in blue glaze, wiped them clean, so only the carved parts were blue, and the second dip in the clear glaze before the kiln. I can really recommend anyone to try it out.
